LA CASCINA DI CHIARA

A relaxing space surrounded by nature

Placed among the vineyards in San Martino sulla Marrucina, in the province of Chieti, Cascina di Chiara is a modern and energy self-sufficient wine tourism facility, born from the skillful and eco-sustainable conservative restoration of an ancient Abruzzo rural dwelling.

The original structure, dating back to the 19th century, was recovered with a view to innovation and environmental sustainability thanks to the provision of photovoltaic panels, storage system and a rainwater collection container. The green and earthquake-proof intervention has significantly reduced the consumption of resources while increasing the efficiency and safety of the building in full respect of the ecosystem in which the Cascina is inserted, making it one of the first earthquake-proof certified wine tourism facilities in Abruzzo.

The fresh and simple exterior look, dominated by clean lines and minimal charm, is contrasted by the details of the interiors inspired by pop culture and contemporary design. The rooms have all been meticulously detailed to offer relaxing yet elegantly vibrant spaces, punctuated by touches of color and originality, starting with the cement tiles of the floors, the lamps and mirrors by Seletti, the ethereal packet curtains and the organic shapes of the upholstered furniture.

Strongly connected to the territory and to Masciarelli Tenute Agricole winery, an expression of regional wine-making excellence, Cascina di Chiara fits strategically into a rich and increasingly sought-after wine tourism context, from which to set out to discover the beauties of Abruzzo’s hinterland and the historical, gastronomic and cultural potential of a highly attractive area, close to the Majella National Park-one of Unesco’s Geoparks-and just a few kilometers from the sea.
